KATSARA NUNO FELT MERINO SILK SCARF WITH RUFFLY BLOSSOMS
This exuberant outburst is a very airy thing of beauty. This felted nuno scarf is floaty & fluttery, soft & delicate looking, and far more sturdy than it appears. I used my handpainted merino roving to create this piece, layering with brown/blue roving and accenting with some swirls of rose and sparkle fibers. I carefully felted it to achieve the fluttery ruched effect, then embellished the ends with abstract blossoms (nasturtium flowers, maybe) using prettily contrasting colors.
The silk chiffon base is hand dyed to a vibrant blue. I left the back side silk with just the lightest haze of wool, to result in a non-itchy feel against your skin.
You can wear this two ways, either draped freely or wrapped around close around your neck.
